Sessions are informal, laid-back and fun!
BEFORE YOUR SESSION
Once you book, I will send over a questionnaire for you to tell me all about your family and your vision for the session. You will also receive my Wardrobe Guide, which tells you everything you need to know about how to choose outfits for your family that look amazing in pictures! I will be available as needed to answer any questions and provide location and wardrobe feedback.
DURING YOUR SESSION
During your session, I will gently guide your family to help you interact with each other in natural ways. I use games and prompts that keep things moving, allow for a variety of angles and interactions, and keep everyone engaged and having fun. No two sessions are the same: everything is tailored to your vision, preferences, needs, and unique personality.

AFTER YOUR SESSION
Within 3 weeks of your session, you will receive a proofing gallery of professionally edited images. The gallery is mobile-optimized for viewing, sharing, and downloading. You can conveniently order products and prints from my professional lab right from the gallery. The number of downloads depends on the package you select (please see the pricing page for details), and additional images are available if you want more!

What is Lifestyle Photography?Lifestyle Photography is a style of photography that features individuals and families in an genuine, natural, and artistic way. It is somewhere between posed, formal portraits and completely candid, documentary photography. Lifestyle photography aims to capture natural interactions, everyday activities, emotion, and connection. My sessions are unscripted, but still have a plan, and I use gentle directions and prompts to help guide your interactions so that we can make beautiful pictures that give you all the feels!

What should we wear to our session? After booking your session, you will receive my Wardrobe Guide, which covers how to choose outfits for your family that look amazing in pictures! The guide includes information on choosing colors, patterns, prints, and textures, examples of outfits, and special considerations for pregnancy and newborns. I will be available leading up to your session to provide feedback on outfit choices, and I have a handful of items available for clients to borrow for sessions.

How do we choose a location?Sessions take place either outdoors or in your home. In-Home shoots are comfortable, unique to you, and will allow you to look back at memories of your home at this point in time, like your decor and your kids' rooms! Outdoor shoots allow the season to be your backdrop and give you lots of space to move and play! I have lots of suggestions for beautiful locations. If there is a special or unique location you are interested in, I would love to hear about it! (I have shot at Lincoln Financial Field, in a greenhouse at a garden center, at 5 Guys, on the beach, and at the hospital after birth!)

What is included in a session?I have two options for sessions. All-Inclusive sessions include a gallery of 40+ images and you will be able to download them all in full-resolution for sharing or printing. Petite Sessions are shorter and include10 full-resolution images for download, with additional images available for purchase if you love more than 10. Sessions currently do not include any print products or albums, but you will be able to purchase heirlooom quality prints and products directly from your gallery. You will also be able to use your digital image files to order prints or other photo products from anywhere else you'd like.

What happens in the case of a sick family member or bad weather? We reschedule! My top priority is the safety and health of my clients and my family. I trust my clients to be honest about any risk of illness and I will be flexible with you to reschedule your shoot in a timely manner. For outdoors shoots, if it is actively raining I will require that we reschedule. We will keep an eye on the weather and we can make a decision within a couple hours of your session, if needed. Reschedules and cancellations are appreciated within 24 hours of your shoot, if possible, and are subject to availability.

What if someone in our shoot has physical restrictions or a disability of any kind? This is so important to think about when choosing your photographer! My background is in education and counseling, and I have a lot of experience working with children and adults who have a variety of unique needs. I will spend extra time with you to go over what works best for your family. The goal is for the session to be safe, enjoyable, and low stress for everyone involved, regardless of age, ability, or needs.

What kind of gear do you use?I use a Canon R6 full frame mirrorless camera, and I have a variety of lenses that I select from for your session depending on the space, the light, and the setting. I prefer to use natural light whenever I can, but I will occaisionally use a speedlight flash when lighting conditions aren't optimal.
